Dr Kingstone Mutsonziwa
Non-Executive Director and Co-Founder
Dr Kingstone Mutsonziwa is a co-founder and non-executive director of Sigma Kairos. He is a seasoned leader who currently heads Information and Research at FinMark Trust. With over twenty years of experience in research and a solid knowledge of market research as well as socio-economic research, his expertise include overall research strategy and project management. He oversees data analytics and works on both quantitative and qualitative research. Kingstone has also consulted for a number of clients across different industries, and is a strategic thinker, mentor and trainer across many disciplines.
He is an Editorial Board Member of 2 journals in Contemporary Management and Customer Relations, having published widely and contributed to the academic and financial inclusion literature. Kingstone possesses strong leadership qualities and experience in engaging with stakeholders such as policy makers, regulators, National Bureau of Statistics, financial service providers, development partners, non-government organisations and academic institutions, at senior levels. He has strong competencies in handling large research projects and budgets, having worked extensively as a lead for surveys in Africa, Asia and the Caribbean.
These surveys are nationally representative studies of consumers and business owners’ perceptions on financial services and other issues. Before going into the research industry, he lectured Statistics at the University of Witwatersrand and was also a research consultant for a number of organisations. He went on to become a Research and Development Director at a leading market research firm in Johannesburg, before joining FinMark Trust.
